Usually short blurbs gives the reader an idea of what the news piece might be, and a link is provided so that they can check out the latest news. There are many major corporations and news networks, or even just news-based organizations are using Twitter as a way to communicate with their audience. For example, CNN has several Twitter accounts for various kinds of news: breaking news, newsroom, news report, and so on.

I agree, Twitter is a good example of news feed. Because it's about real time instantaneous updates for just about anything
ReplyDeleteTwitter is great for just really brief information, but I think it's a little iffy for news sources. Only giving headlines, I think, steers readers away from the actual news article. Headlines can be deceiving and they'll just get more outrageous to sell more. I follow a lot of news sites on Twitter, though I don't really use it, I think I'm bombarded with updates that aren't really breaking news from reputable sources.
ReplyDeleteI do not really understand the whole trend with twitter and its appeal to everyone at the moment. I think it is quite creepy to "follow" people on twitter, but as an alternative news source, I can venture it is extremely useful and easy to use and follow and get updates on your phone and everything.
