News Flash!

So this week we are talking about news/journalism, an interesting way to get news is through Twitter. One can subscribe to any person or figure/organization to get the latest news of their interest.

Usually short blurbs gives the reader an idea of what the news piece might be, and a link is provided so that they can check out the latest news. There are many major corporations and news networks, or even just news-based organizations are using Twitter as a way to communicate with their audience. For example, CNN has several Twitter accounts for various kinds of news: breaking news, newsroom, news report, and so on.

You can find them all here.

  1. I agree, Twitter is a good example of news feed. Because it's about real time instantaneous updates for just about anything

  2. Twitter is great for just really brief information, but I think it's a little iffy for news sources. Only giving headlines, I think, steers readers away from the actual news article. Headlines can be deceiving and they'll just get more outrageous to sell more. I follow a lot of news sites on Twitter, though I don't really use it, I think I'm bombarded with updates that aren't really breaking news from reputable sources.

  3. I do not really understand the whole trend with twitter and its appeal to everyone at the moment. I think it is quite creepy to "follow" people on twitter, but as an alternative news source, I can venture it is extremely useful and easy to use and follow and get updates on your phone and everything.
