Future of Technology

This post does not have much to do with the government regulation of technology, but rather the exceeding speed of development of technology. Technology is ever changing and growing. By the time we are all older, there will be thousands of new products and technologies we will have no idea how to work. It is incredible how fast it is developed. I watched this video in one of my other courses, and believe it fits with our course as well. Some of the statistics are astonishing, but to connect it back to last weeks discussion, as much as governments are trying to control the Internet, with technology changing so often, how will they be able to keep up?

  2. Very intriguing video, it again comes back to the idea that one day machines will take over the world. For some reason it reminds me of the movie that just came out called "9" where this super-machine that could invent and make new machinery on its own and surpasses human capabilities takes over the world and destroys life. Also the movie "Wall-E" by Disney, where again, artificial intelligence controls the human population. It's a scary thought, but I think that the human race will have to evolve and/or adapt. The concern is how fast can we evolve and adapt? Not only will technology exponentially improve, but the amount of knowledge will also sky-rocket.

  3. I love seeing a video like this, because this is something i think about all the time. Technology is moving so fast, and I wonder what life will be like when Im 50 considering how much it has changed since I was born. It will be a scary day, when a computer can function, interact, and adapt better than the human brain. THEN THE ROBOTS WILL TAKE OVER!!! AHHHHH

  5. Wow, this is crazy! I was especially amazed about the country that has more honor students then we have students! I definitely think something needs to be resolved when it comes to the US school system...
