One sight i believe many people would use to get their news would be Google News. Mainly because most people use google and everything it has to offer, why not use google news? It is up to date and has the latest braking stories. But what i noticed about this website was the layout of the page. Reflecting back to the presentation on Archives and the entertainment we all enjoyed when the class was looking up past sites, i feel that googles news page is not a lavish as other news sources like CNN and Fox News. It is still a really organized site, but little pops out. This site is not years behind like the white house's page was originally but only like a year behind! Still the sources are good and so is the content.

I agree, google is a great way of getting information. I mostly watch google video about any news related subject I'm interested in.
ReplyDeleteI use Google news all the time, it's great. You can also set up news alerts so it emails you every time a news article with a phrase or topic is posted. So if you're looking for specific information, especially on a distinct topic, it's really helpful.
ReplyDeleteI also use google for just about anything. It is my homepage, my email, my contact listings, and I have RSS connections to it as well. Google nowadays is one of the most intertwined system on the web and it makes life so much easier.
ReplyDeleteI would agree with all the above but would also add that if your already using google for about everything else in your life your infested enough that you wont really care too much about an eye popping design.
ReplyDeleteI have never used google news for anything, and this was the first time I have seen it. The first thing I noticed was how simple it is like you said compared to other news stations like CNN.com, which reminds me that they just changed their layout, and now it drives me nuts. I cannot figure anything out again and dislike the layout because I was accustom to the old one. However, I think that the google news layout is not as appealing to others. Yes, it is simple, but to me it is ugly and the big stories do not pop out to me like in other sites.
